AB:

1st 50 (16)
2nd 50 (15)
And if he'd got one more run instead of getting out, it would've been
3rd 50 (14)

Essentially he broke the fastest 50 record thrice in one innings

Holding is such a douche. Telling WI not to go for the win and treat it as a practice match. If he was in charge SA wouldn't have chased 434 in 2006 and Ireland wouldn't have beaten England in the 2011 World Cup.

**** off Holding.

Damn, I thought Anderson's knock would of stayed at number one for a while considering it took almost 20 years to break Afridi's.

It's chases like these where you make the easy money betting on the next wicket to be out Caught.

edit; ****ing no balls.

I agree with you that Holding is wrong but I'm not sure the bolded is true. I think he just basically sees this game as World Cup practice and would like to see the West Indies use it as preparation rather than getting too wrapped up in the result as a meaningful entity. I think the best way to prepare for the World Cup would be to actually try and chase what you're set so I disagree with him, but I think he'd advocate actually chasing whatever the score was if this was actually a World Cup game.

Maybe, but I could easily see his attitude once they lost those early wickets being just bat well and try and improve. You should never stop giving up on a win in ODIs unless doing so is beneficial in a tournament net run rate/bonus point way.

Why do the windies keep persisting with dwayne smith?
He keeps finding new roles and then improving after they drop him. He's actually done pretty well since his last recall -- he's averaging 35 and striking at 91 (plus good T20 performances for them in the same period).

I couldn't help it. I've just thrown away some money by betting on the WI.

More hoping for some random market panic and to arbitrage but still, probably the most long shot bet I will ever make in a 1 v 1 match

Edit: aaaaaaaaand Gayle's out
