Great start from our boys.

What are we doing playing Gillespie, O'Brien, Franklin and Mills though? Would have thought another batsman would have been the way to go personally. Throw in Vettori and overs from Ryder and the 4th seamer is just wasted IMO.
Franklin's been picked as much as a batsman as a bowler from what I can gather.

FFS. You figure he would have learnt never to play that shot in test cricket except when he's batting with Chris Martin. Really pathetic. Here's hoping pornstar can make good today.

Gayle 6 overs, 9 for 2. Says it all really.

Ross Taylor should not be allowed to play test cricket until he stops trying to hit everything to midwicket.

Not Terrible
I can see Flynn doing this for the next few years, hanging around, toughing it out while everybody else comes and goes at the other end.
Na I can see Taylor and Ryder having their own days in the sun while gritty old Flynn just sticks around.

Can't lose two more wickets today or else the day is the Windies, if we don't lose anymore and get near 300 the day is ours for sure.

Still can't bring myself to talk about Taylor's dismissal. One thing about it though was it made the way McIntosh got out look slightly less reckless.

It's funny, the wickets have largely fallen to balls that didn't deserve them, while Taylor was unplayable for much of the first session and has gone unrewarded.

What I like about Flynn is we've always had players who can play big shots but lack stickability, (McMillan, Astle, Spearman etc) or players with stickability but no shot making ability like Richardson Redmond, Marshall, this list is substantially longer than the last), but very rarely do we get a player with both. Flynn isnt as talented as Taylor, Ryder, and others but he's got a little bit of both and I think that will make him a good player for NZ.
