I remember the commentators saying something like:

"And BANG! He's hit that away. That's into the...Astle's caught it! Nathan Astle has caught that. How the HELL did he catch that?!"

James Franklin & Jamie How have been left out of the Black Caps for the remaining one day internationals & Ross Taylor & Kyle Mills have been brought in.

No complaints from me, even though i do like what i see of How, I believe he is a better test option at this stage. Great to see Taylor getting his chance and believe it or not i'm glad to see Mills back

If anyone wants to see a video replay, it'll be archived over at the 431 club at www.blackcaps.co.nz.

I can't believe they've dropped Jamie How. I'm very confused about what the selectors are trying to do at the moment.

Mills for Franklin is a straight swap from ODI's to tests IMO.

Even though Mason got collared at the start of the Windies Chch chase, that last over he bowled was superb. There was alot of pressure on then. And he soaked it up well.

I can! I actually get this one...

I think they will be picking How to make his test debut, so they are sending him back to get some first class play under his belt.

Same with Franklin (or maybe he is just dropped)

I think it is time that we put Fleming down at four or five on ODI's - he played beautifully in Wellington when he came in after 25 odd overs. He just doesn't look up to opening at the moment. And if he opens in the tests... :@

With the ODI series decided, thoughts turn towards the test series.

What chance Papps and How opening?

My team?

Papps
How
Fulton
Fleming
Styris
Astle
McCullum
Vettori
Franklin
Bond

And one other. NOT Mills. Either Patel (spin friendly ground), C Martin, or maybe a bolter like Gillespie (?) - most FC wickets this season.

The other thing is I want Fulton at three, but does that open up such an inexpeirenced top 3

I don't think How will make the test lineup, my pick is they'll stay with Craig Cumming.

So you NZ fans who don't have Sky don't suffer - last two Windies games LIVE on Prime.
:)
Except people who don't have Sky in Oamaru. You can't get Prime here unless you have Sky. Luckily, our flat does.

I really hope they don't pick Cumming. After that debut knock against Australia, he showed pretty much nothing. He was also injured for quite some time this season, so I would wonder about his match practise.

Cumming this season -
List A - 8 games, 1 50, 138 @ 19.71
First Class - 2 games, 66 runs at 33

Plus with How's reasonable start to ODI cricket, you would have to pick him.

Taken 2-28 from 8 vs Auckland so far this morning...

Bowls well with Franklin...

Meanwhile, How made 7. Bugger!

What's Ross Taylor like? And how come this article links to a bloke who died 9 years ago?[/URL]
Funny. Who would have known he would make his debut so long after he died. Ross Taylor is a quick scoring 21 yr old batsman.Unfortunately I just read this intro to an article about him "The most exciting batsman since a young Craig McMillan will be unleashed on the deflated West Indies in Napier on Wednesday"

Bugger. Full article - http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3585247a10133,00.html

LOL @ he was at UB40! Classic.

He was at a UB40 concert? My respect for him has just disappeared out the door. How a band can last so long making pretty much covers is beyond me.

Hey. Maybe he was dragged along by his parents. He is only 21.

Plus, at least he wasn't watching Ben Lummis...
