See what you mean about liking to watch him bowl, tbh.

As a side note, would the commentators shut up about 'oh should he or shouldn't he play a reverse sweep?' If it's a shot that he practices in the nets and he's comfortable playing, there is no reason why he shouldn't use it. The fact it initially derived from limited overs cricket doesn't mean it's a party trick that can't be used against a red ball; it's now every bit as legitimate a shot as the regular sweep - and no riskier.

A side note to this side note - I really think Taylor in particular is a batsman who'd benefit from a reverse sweep in his arsenal. Despite being a decent player of spin, he often lacks scoring options when it's not bouncing and he can't cut balls. He has no 3rd gear, along the ground boundary stroke. There are single options and six options, but nothing in between.

Congrats. Have a love/hate relationship with Baz these days but this has been superb. Seems a bit more controlled than usual, even though he's done it a run a ball.

Excellent hundred Brendan, well played. That is about as comprehensive as a test hundred gets tbh. two false shots I think, that was it. Otherwise complete domination.

I just wish it didn't take questions over his form and health for him to get this hundred.

Even before that review happened, I thought that taking the new ball after McCullum got to his ton and with Taylor just short plays on the whole captaincy tension quite nicely - McCullum gets his ton easily, whereas Taylor has to deal with the new ball and work a lot harder to get his.

Congrats to both for reaching the century though, great stuff from both of them.
