Well having the fastest International century in any format is nothing to be sneezed at considering we had been talking up Holder, Rampaul, and Narine as ODI bowlers

McCullum according to cricinfo said the two innings were once in a lifetime achievements.

I mean I'm all for protecting cricket but this is a pretty poorly researched article. He only has to look back to the first ODI in the series to see that the West Indians are very capable bowlers. Or even watch Holder's first over vs Guptill.

There were a few full tosses that crept in but that happens when there's a batting partnership of that quality putting pressure on the bowlers.
Yeah but Michael Jeh is an idiot.

Absolutely whirlwind batting by the kiwis and quickly becoming a tour to forget for the Windies.

Gonna go to bed now, circa 12am AEST.

When I wake up I imagine I will see the real scorecard, i.e. NZ scored around 170 off 21 overs and Corey Anderson got 60 off 42 balls.

This 36 ball ton was just a dream.

Michael Jeh is the worst kind of piss weak, reactionary, biast and just flat out **** journalist that unfortunately now infest cricinfo. I stopped reading his BS articles years ago.

Yeah but Michael Jeh is an idiot.
Indeed.

In the middle of Anderson's innings he scored 55 in 14 balls.

I'm trying to match it in Little Master Cricket but it's not happening

Indeed.
I've never read a columnist/journo that I consistently disagree more with than Michael Jeh. In this day and age, that's a feat.

I'm not a fan of slugging in that form either but to cheapen the skill factor involved in what those two did, especially Anderson, is pee weak. I see no reason that record won't stand for years upon years - it's not like they're going to bring the boundaries in to the 30m circle and the bats don't have many other places to go power-wise, I wouldn't have thought.

So happy for Anderson, not just for yesterday but the last three months. He's a kid who without all the injury setbacks would've been playing international cricket as a teenager. It must of been hard seeing the likes of Southee, Williamson, Boult etc, guys he grew up playing with plying their trades on the international circuit while he was stuck in a gym somewhere rehabbing. The move to ND under the guidance of Bradburn really was the best thing for him, for him as an all rounder anyway.

I don't normally read the cricinfo comments.. and I don't think I ever will again.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Remember a few years ago there were actual researched articles looking at the average amount of runs scored in Tests and ODIs, examining whether or not it was getting easier for batsmen. Would like to see that updated, as I think it's started going the other way in recent years.

But geeze, Corey J! Seems like we're now starting to see just how talented he is. I mean, we all knew from age cricket that he was a 'special talen't but it now seems like (considering the Tests) we're seeing some of that talent applied at international level. I actually hope he starts churning out consistent 50s in the lower order to cement his place in the side, and isn't expected to belt hundreds every game. Going from iffy bits and pieces all-round selection to genuine batsmen who can bowl would be very welcome.

If I could be ****ed I'd make some kind of .gif with Milne on a jet boat down Dart River stopping for him to be sold by McHesson. Seriously feel for the guy. Hope he plays the next ODI.

Well the last game was another embarrassment!!..and these sort of performances make Gibson's position more and more vulnarable..must admit though all the cards seem to be falling in NZ's favor...they effectively picked their t20 side for the game while we had three wicket-keepers in the side and players who aren't t20 specialists at all..

Powell
Charles
Walton
Simmons
Bravo
Deanarine
Ramdin
Narine
Holder
Rampaul
Miller

Only four of those are in the current t20 side right now...and how ironic that Sammy stays fit when the test series are on but manages to injure himself in the formats that he can actually contribute? 8)

And what can i say about the bowling? pathetic isn't even the word...the boys just weren't on it at all.

I only hope when the dust is settled from this series and Richard Pybus makes his decisions on how we can enhance our cricket we can grow from this... though things are terrible right now i fully expect us to return the favor in the caribbean in may.
