**** no. He was still rubbish. A few decent short balls doesn't change that.
Sorry but you're getting a bit silly now. Wagner was very good in that session. Was very unfortunate to get only one wicket: made all the batsmen play and miss more than once, used the shorter deliveries well, generally kept things tight. All round it was a fine spell of bowling. Whether it's enough to keep his place in the side is another matter entirely, but it was just what NZ needed coming up into the wind after lunch.

They played and missed a few times, but there were no genuinely excellent deliveries like Southee and Boult were producing. Corey Anderson could've produced that spell.

Frankly, the way the West Indies are playing, those spells should be the rule, not the exception from the third seamer. The fact that it was the best that he's bowled in this series and he still only picked up one wicket says it all.

"He was rubbish" is a bit different to "but he didn't bowl as well as Southee and Boult which is what you're saying now.:p

Alright then, suit yourself.

Would like WI to stretch this out until tomorrow if only so that I can feel like I've gotten some value out of my match pass.

He had the luxury of bowling to new batsmen thanks to the effort of Southee. He picked up the wicket of the new batsman, which is the very least you should hope for from your third seamer after your strike bowler has delivered for you.

He gets a par for that spell but really should have taken more than one wicket. But he wasn't good enough.

good enough to secure a spot for the third test though
Probably.
I would prefer that if the selectors are going to drop a bowler mid series that it's because a NZ domestic bowler is demanding selection through performance, rather than dropping a bowler for poor performance then hunting around to try and find a replacement.

Utterly embarrassing...there's no other words for it. Boult and Southee are decent bowlers..but my lord they must be thanking father christmas for gifting them such pathetic opposition in this series!!..

1. Edwards has batted well but he's not an opener, meanwhile them idiots flew Brathwaite over only to make him sit on the bench

2. Deonarine has never been good enough so why on earth he's still in the side is beyond me

3. Powell needs to stop throwing away his starts...it all looks pretty when he's in full flow but his mental game needs some work...sort it out lad or Barath will be taking back his spot if he does well for trinidad next season

I'm also disappointed in Bravo and Samuels...i'll give Bravo the benefit out of the doubt because of his heroics in the last game but the fact is he's set himself high standards and hasn't lived up to them in this test. Samuels just looks so out of touch...he done well in the first innings but last year a start like that would be converted..he needs to look at his footwork and stop being so bloody rash.

But well done to the kiwis anyway...you have the more settled side and have been able to put your best team on the park..we have a lot of soul searching to do i think..and i pray this will be the last series for the selectors, perhaps Gibson and certainly Sammy...his stupid comments before this test just further personify his incompetence.

Next year we've got Bangledash at home and then the kiwis will be coming to the Caribbean...with conditions clearly in our favor there will be no excuses!!..we will not accept these sort of performances and our players know it.

.
Brathwaite only arrived 2 days ago so its fair enough to let him acclimatise first.

Err no. Our best team on the park would include Vettori, Ryder & a plethora of pace bowlers better than Wagner.
