The ball's swinging around, so they give the new ball to Broad, doesn't really make sense. Broads a very good ODi bowler, but if it's swinging then surely Bresnan, a swing bowler, should get the new ball?
Even though it seems like hindsight from me, I think that would not even have been a good thing to do, in theory. If you have a genuinely quick, successful ODI bowler, you always should give him the new ball, regardless of conditions, especially when the swing bowler in question (Bresnan) isn't that good.

Broad's pace is being timed at around 92-93 quite regularly. The white ball always seems to get higher readings, but Broad's coming out as proper express-pace.
Yeah, the readings in England seem to be comparitive to those in South Africa and Australia (quite high, but nothing unreasonable) and so we can say with some confidence that Broad is one of the quickest ODI bowlers in the world, perhaps only a shade behind Johnson and Tait. He really is a superb bowler in limited overs cricket to boot.

WI working their way in to a decent position here, need to slow the scoring and get one of these two out.
Indeed, didn't expect this. As soon as the first three fell, I just put on GTA and expected the innings to be over before long but it is impressive stuff from Bravo and Chanderpaul. Shocked to see Broad get carted too, looked to be bowling well early on. That early burst must have taken it out of him.

It's a true track, a hot day, a lightning outfield and short boundaries. Par is in the 260 region, minimum, for mine.

He certainly hurried Sarwan into his shot, which proves that he must be bowling at a decent pace, I'd say the readings are pretty accurate tbh, it's not like Jimmy's coming out at 95mph as well. I'm getting genuinely excited about Broad's talent now, I always thought there was something good about him, but he's finally coming good. His pace is up, he gets wickets, and he gets good players out. If he can continue getting better and better, and stay fit he will have a very long career and could take some serious hauls of wickets.
His played 1 International match against Australia and that was a Twenty20 match where he got murdered by Gilly & Haydos. It's one thing to take wickets against the 2nd/3rd weakest team in world cricket and a totally different thing to succeed against the best in the world, which I highly doubt Broad has the ability to do. Especially the form Hughes is in, he could easily put Broad's Test career to bed in the Ashes, if not on hold for the next few years. Unless England want to do Broad into the bowling verison of Ramprakash and average over 40 with the ball for 50 Tests.

Broad is a superb ODI bowler, it would be foolish to underrate him. He is very quick and rushes batsmen with his zip and seam movement.
