Just because he quoted you doesn't mean every line of his post was directed at you. I don't, personally, think he was being in the slightest nasty to you, and I genuinely do feel that the rolleyes should be used carefully. I'd have preferred the :dry: one in that instance, TBH.

Why? It's a smiley! How can that really cause any offence?!

And obviously I interpreted the post differently to you. Tbh, it's not really that important, so we probably shouldn't spam the thread with a load of 'he meant this' and 'I took it this way, and it really hurt my feelings' crap, especially as there is a test match going on. Just thought he was a bit out of order, that's all. Next time I'll take the high road and keep my mild irritation to myself.

The post wasn't directed at S_F at all...though I can see why it might give that impression. Ah, the perils of forumposting...

Commentary watch update:

Guardian Unlimited is stuck in some Roses banter, BBC Sport has fallen asleep, and CricInfo is having a cuppa. This Test match is definitely living up to the hype so far...

Perhaps the discussion of the rolleyes would best be done elsewhere. But I always worry most about Strauss when he's scoring fast.

And I'd also like to see him demonstrate he can score runs when people don't bowl loads of short stuff at him.

Had to smile at the cricinfo commentator moaning about Cook being even younger than he/she is. I remember a similar feeling when Norman Cowans first played for England.
