Ian Bell at six? Surely, Shah should have been given that position for Ian Bell is a England regularly and yet his demoted and Shah, the one test wonder gets the premium batting slot.

TBH, we did okay last summer with a similar attack (then it was Mahmood in place of Plunkett)

I jsut hope that when Flintoff returns, it's a bowler who makes way

Anyway, Shah bats at 3, Bell bats at 6, from where he averages 93.75

Cricinfo are talking a lot about a "seamers' paradise. Whether it's actually a seamers' paradise or a swingers' paradise remains to be seen. Personally I think the latter is more likely.

Ian Bell scored 3 Test centuries at #6 last summer.

Nice average but number six role is a slot which should be located for the ‘newbie’. However, Bell may have the last laugh for the wicket has a slight green tinge supposedly.

Yeah I think Bell will be grateful to be at 6 with England batting first. I imagine this ball will do all sorts.

Hope Cook scores some.

"The covers trundle back on as the drizzle returns"

The weather is fine round my way, the sun is even out so it shouldn't be a huge delay. Only problem being is that there is hardly any wind today in the capital and the big ****ing black clouds could linger for sometime.

I've got my finals in two hours time, so I might as well do some revision if their isn't going to be any cricket.

Top tip for the exams - make sure you spell "there" properly or they'll fail you on the spot.

Anyway, best of luck.
