Perhaps it was the slower ball?...:unsure:. If it was then surely credit must go to the bowler in decieving the batsmen?.
Nah, wasn't a slower-ball from what I could see. Just seemed to check his shot... but not quickly enough.

Wish they'd show a replay of the bowler's hand so we'd know for sure, though.

You don't usually see checked shots for seam up deliveries do you?. I'm guessing it was the slower ball.
See it a bit from Gayle, TBH - it's the way he swings his bat. Always has less control of it than some. Have seen him dismissed like that a few times before.

Of course, it's a fault that also enables him to play those massive flowing drives and pulls, and he averages pretty well, so it's just something you've got to live with, but as I say, it will cause problems from time to time.

WI will be pretty happy with this, won't they? Admittedly I haven't seen a single delivery, but in the conditions you'd really expect about 90 for 4 at this stage.
