Well it would seem that way!!..massive bonus for us if true ,So Gayle should be available for the second test?
In theory he can. But obviously....So Gayle should be available for the second test?
He still bowls the doosra, that was the only issue he had, his normal offy isn't a problem so apparantly during his time out he worked on it to make it "acceptable", he wasn't called against the Aussie so his hard work must have paid off!! .AFAIK, still not risking doosra in tests
In any event, the folly of leaving him out was apparent the moment that they lost the toss
You can hit the ball twice as long as you aren't attempting to score, but you can't hit the ball after a fielder has touched it without permission from the fielding side.Batsman is allowed to do that, no? Just can't run.
Whats a good score to defend? 200? and you're right, one of our bowlers would need to have a dream spell, the only problem is we could have them 40/6 and still lose it by failing to take out the tail!! .Good stuff from Ramdin. Been a bit airy fairy but the Windies about 50 runs away from having something to bowl to. Roach will need to do a Taylor.

If England had appealed Ramdin would have been given out.
would go under obstructing the field most likely, if he used the bat to stop a run-out and so forth. But given ramdin hadn't left his crease he should be allowed to to respond at having the ball thrown at him...Law 34 (Hit the ball twice)
1. Out Hit the ball twice
(a) The striker is out Hit the ball twice if, while the ball is in play, it strikes any part of his person or is struck by his bat and, before the ball has been touched by a fielder, he wilfully strikes it again with his bat or person, other than a hand not holding the bat, except for the sole purpose of guarding his wicket. See 3 below and Laws 33 (Handled the ball) and 37 (Obstructing the field).
Think you'll find that he didnt bowl it in that series and admitted as muchHe still bowls the doosra, that was the only issue he had, his normal offy isn't a problem so apparantly during his time out he worked on it to make it "acceptable", he wasn't called against the Aussie so his hard work must have paid off!! .
Yeah, in recent years both Sri Lanka and South Africa have batted for abnormally long times to saves tests here but didn't expect Samuels and Ramdin to bat 70+ overs.Typical Lords pitch, starts flat, gets flatter. Still extremely confident of the win but credit to WI for fighting so hard and Chanderpaul has been brilliant.
Lords doesn't break up, you would need 250 at least I reckon before i'd be nervous.Whats a good score to defend? 200? and you're right, one of our bowlers would need to have a dream spell, the only problem is we could have them 40/6 and still lose it by failing to take out the tail!! .
