Tim Bresnan average watch: 40.00

~~

During the break I've been statsguru-ing. Today, Broad became the 23rd Test player to score 1500 runs and take 150 wickets. Out of those, he's the third youngest to reach the mark, after Kapil and Botham.

I'm not saying this definitively proves him to be a better allrounder than Miller, Imran or Hadlee but it's close
Having seen 2 of the 3 play, you must be on seriously hard drugs to even suggest such a
thing

Really good test this, Windies vastly better than they were last time they were here. The lead is not really satisfactory but still think England should win from here.

Great result that. Odds on the Windies wiping of the deficit without losing a wicket?
Could happen. Both sides know who's been on top today, and both sides know that England won't fancy too much of a chase. Funny thing psychology.

When it comes to Broad and Bresnan, a lot of people who overrate them are on hard drugs.
So i'm on drugs am I ?

Just because they are both better than the majority of all rounders around currently doesn't mean they are being over rated.

I think you are the junkie failing to accept they are bloody good players who would walk into most sides.

Yeah but stats are there in the book (Broad vs Hadlee & Imran) and haters can suck it.
Indeed.

Beyond that, it actually isn't so silly to compare Broad at almost 26 to Hadlee and Imran at the same age. iirc Imran was obviously talented but only occasionally a match winner, and Hadlee was regarded as promising but not as good as his dad. Now of course, that doesn't really prove anything at all in terms of where Broad will end up, but sometimes a bit of context is helpful. imho.

Broad would walk into most sides since I consider him one of the best bowlers. But to compare him to Imran is just ridiculous.
