I think it's a fair guess that most things qualify as unpredictable to Watson. Not saying he's an overcoached robot or anything...
Perhaps, the must have been a reason. From what I understand, the spell where he got Watson out and hit Ponting was with the wind. If that's the case, presumably he'll stick to that tomorrow.Roach did say he wanted to concentrate on his control in this match, after criticism came in about his speed comments. Maybe he felt that with the wind at back, on the WACA pitch, he would loose that control.
If I didnt know you were a youngster, I'd tell you to get off the booze and have some sleepKatich is an idiot, Watson batted like a tank, loved his innings, Hussey needs to go on to a ton tomorrow, but still a tank innings by him. Punter got roughed up pretty bad, good **** from Roach. Want Punter to ton, but if we do, channel 9 commentary will suck his dick even more. Sounds good -.-.
I'm a little worried that Deonarine somehow seems to have difficulty translating that talent to the highest level, while Dowlin seems to struggle with his limited gifts to score just enough to merit not being dropped....Deonarine is a good player who has the ability to do a job. My bigger concern is Dowlin coming in, who I really have little faith in with the bat.
Yeah, Rampaul seems to lack a bit of the pace necessary to be successful in Test cricket, IMHO. I see him as a fixture in the ODI side, but he will probably struggle to hold down a place in the Test team....Is he? That's fair enough then. But I still think there has to be someone in the Carribean with more decent raw materials as a Test quick than Rampaul.
Well, when the strike was called against Bangladesh, the selectors called him to find out if he'd play....Powell should never play again.
Deonarine hasn't had much of a chance, has he? He hasn't played a Test for 4 years, since he was 22. And since then he's improved greatly as a batsman.I'm a little worried that Deonarine somehow seems to have difficulty translating that talent to the highest level, while Dowlin seems to struggle with his limited gifts to score just enough to merit not being dropped....
Could it be a mental issue with Deonarine?
Personally, I don't think either are good enough for Test cricket....Yeah no doubt that Rampaul is quicker. He's not really quick enough to worry quality batsmen though. But personally (and bare in mind it is a personal opinion) I think that Sammy would be more complimentary to Roach than Rampaul is. Sammy isn't a world beater by any means but for some reason he seems to have a knack of picking up wickets from nowhere and potentially tie up an end, which I haven't seen Rampaul do as of yet.
He was picked in the CT squad, I believe. But got injured and McLean came in.Well, when the strike was called against Bangladesh, the selectors called him to find out if he'd play....
But by then, he was already working on a contract to play for Lancashire, so he turned the WI selectors down, so, yes, he won't be playing for the Windies again.
But he will be turning out for the Red Rose over the next three years, or so....
I'm more than a little worried that he only bowled one over with the second new ball....So, is there something actually wrong with Roach? Bewildering that he wasn't bowled more today.
Indeed. I took a pic of him batting at the Adelaide Test. Proves your point I reckon.I think it's a fair guess that most things qualify as unpredictable to Watson. Not saying he's an overcoached robot or anything...
Again I wish to record my giggle for this comparison.Indeed. I took a pic of him batting at the Adelaide Test. Proves your point I reckon.
Yeah, I'm pretty much in that camp too. Some of the shots yesterday were glorious. But, wow, doesn't he just give so much material to mock with. That being said I love watching Watson bat, which hurts me even more cos I hate him so much.
