The funny thing was that nobody was interested in saying "yeah he could" or "I doubt it", which is a measure of just how often Hayden can look safe and very promising before getting out in the 30's.age_master said:or maybe not

A bit harsh, even if Australia do thump WI 3-0.Slow Love™ said:one of the most interesting things about this series (far more than the results of the matches are likely to be, anyway) will definitely be how these less-established Aussie batsmen (Clarke, Katich, Watson) perform.
What is up with his celebration of a wicket? He's doing the whole "You can't see me" John Cena taunt. LOL!Adamc said:Go Corey. I was surprised to see he's only played 17 Tests, he seems to have been around for a long time. Anyway, very good bowling from him after a seemingly innocuous start. WI will be very happy with their position, though Ponting seems very determined to make a big ton.
Haha, that was just me demonstrating some good old Aussie hubris.Jono said:A bit harsh, even if Australia do thump WI 3-0.
Anyway I think the fact that this is Lara's last tour to Australia is more interesting anyway
He does that a lot.Jono said:What is up with his celebration of a wicket? He's doing the whole "You can't see me" John Cena taunt. LOL!
Very true - it has indeed been interesting to see how they've performed so far though.Pratyush said:And it may not be all about seeing how the Aussie fringe players perform
I like it. You've got Powell swaying his arms celebrating before the ball has been caught, and Collymore doing that, I wonder what Edwards is gonna do when he gets a wicket.Pratyush said:He does that a lot.
4/111 is a bit better than 1/380 or whatever it was, thoughSlow Love™ said:Good to see that cricinfo have got their obligatory "[insert player here] ROCKS [insert country here]" headline running.
Pretty fair ton to Ponting here, and Gilly's looking extremely threatening. Even though the West Indians had Australia 4/111, I still would rather have seen the West Indians bat first this match. I realise they'd essentially made the decision to bowl first well before the coin toss, but IMO they should have backed their batsman and tried to get some runs on the board. I guess the jury's out on whether or not it was a bad decision, although it's hard to avoid comparisons to Hussain in '03.
