This is your response?? What a total cop out. WTF does that even mean anyway........If it makes you feel better???
Mate I just want to know why when I said I spent 3 days in Adelaide sweltering last time watching the Aussie bowlers serve up dross you said some ****e about my pommy skin lying??........do I need to look up and post the Adelaide weather Ob's for that week in 2010 FFS?
This is quite simple mate. When a player/supporter of any losing side comes out with such comments as the weather conspired against us........you will and should get hammered for it, because it is a **** comment to make. The Aussies went down in 3 tests by an innings margin........I don't really give a crap what your weather was doing up and down the country that summer, you got beat because you played **** cricket. That is the end of it. There is no postscript or clarification required.
I actually agree with you that this series will be a close contest, but it has nothing to do with "typical" weather. It is because the Aussies have improved since 10/11 and England are not as strong as they were back then.
I don't think you understand. When you talk about weather effecting pitches, it's not "oh, **** me it rained last week, it'll be a green top", it's just when there's a protracted dry spell or a particularly hot and dry lead up to a summer, then the tracks tend to play flatter than they do in years which are wetter.
Because the Toriy filth are back in power, there will be a protracted drought in Australia - intellectually, morally and climatologically. It always rains more under Labor, it's a fact of history.
In the early 2000s there was a nearly decade long drought here. Pitches flattened out, generally speaking, and batsmen dominated for a long period. It also helps explain, imo, why a whole generation of batsmen are less adept at playing the late moving ball. They grew up at a time when there wasn't much of it around, so they could just pick the line and hit through it. If it stays dry, it'll happen again. A few years back when Pakistan toured here, we had a really wet patch and the pitches were itstl.
But if it's baking hot and, more relevantly, dry for 6-12 months before a test series, you'll find the decks are generally pretty flat here.
