Dressing down at lunch for the bowlers me thinks.
Absolutely worst post ever.Early indications are that Compton is back in (Boycott scoring) form - 0 from 12 and Sommerset in general is hoping everyone will fall asleep and forget a game of cricket is going on (13 off 5 overs including 4lb)
Aussies shouldn't place too much pressure on Compton, we could really use someone like him to hold up an innings if he stays in and therefore puts pressure on his partner to score the runs
hmmm, not sure if technique is more important than amount of revs + accuracy + guile, but that's an interesting point, mind you, most offies would improve their action coming round the wicket to lefties. I have to say I hate this declaration, batsmen have to learn to be ruthless and bat on forever, and tour games are a good time to learn.Swann is relatively ineffective against right handers because his arm goes past the perpendicular and, as such, he gets little drift
This " fault" is "corrected" when he bowls around the wicket to lefties as a result of the body position necessitated by his position on the crease
"Technically". Lyon is a much better bowler than Swann
No Monty? Hmm...Kent Cricket News @ksncricket 1h
KSN understands Kent captain James Tredwell has been placed on standby by England ahead of the 4 day game against Essex starting on Sunday.
Compton is still better than your whole top order put together. Jerky you say? Hmmm: Maybe he's got himself a doosra...Yeah, I only knew because they were talking about the catch on the radio the other day. Seems much more side on and jerky than he was previously. Kinda like a right arm Shakib.
He doesn't. If Lehmann truly wants to pick the best side, then I wanna see him putting money where his mouth is and not picking Siddle which is a 'safe' option. He'll probably end up with a 5-fer now that I say it, but I'm still not seeing why Siddle so clearly has to be in the test side in front of Bird.
I think it's just a case of knowing what you'll get. Siddle's pretty reliable and England probably won't smash him around the park etc. I'd expect Bird will get a run in the next game though given how well Pattinson and Starc have done here and if Siddle had a bad game, there's an outside chance there. But realistically I'd say you could be 90% certain of the bowling lineup for the first test mostly because Bird is an unknown quantity. He'll probably end up with a 5-fer now that I say it, but I'm still not seeing why Siddle so clearly has to be in the test side in front of Bird.
