Nehra and Sreesanth are ****ing ****. If we won the WC it'd be disgusting that these two ****s would have a medal.
Agree and add Miss Munaf to the list too.

Praveen Kumar was a bigger loss than most here made it to be .

NZ should drop Oram. Long way over the hill. They bat all the way down to 10, why do they need yet another bits and pieces cricketer? If they find themselves relying on Oram for crucial runs, they're probably ****ed anyway, so might as well pick a specialist bowler who's more likely to make an impact, i.e. Bennett.

Business as usual for NZ... completely owned by India.

Taylor continues to fail. That really is a huge problem for NZ, we desperately need him in form so he can anchor the innings.
Still no solution to the death bowling situation.

By the time Taylor went out, there was no point in chasing that total, and I was disappointed that the NZ batsmen didn't take the opportunity to spend some time in the middle facing quality spin bowling.

We really missed our best bowler. When the bowling stocks are limited and you're facing the world's best batting lineup on a flat track, taking the no.1 ranked bowler in the world out of your team is a huge blow.

Positives? McCullum got some runs.
Um.... we're lulling the opposition into a false (or real) sense of security?

Bring it on Kenya!! You're going down, bitch!! (God, I hope we don't lose).

Just checked, he's only 32. :-O Seems like he's been around forever.

India and Pakistan in 1987.

England and New Zealand in 1992.

South Africa in 1999, 2003, 2007......
How did South Africa peak early in 2007?

They got hammered by Australia in the groups, almost mucked up a simple run chase against Sri Lanka, got dominated by Bangladesh and lost to New Zealand. At no point in the tournament did South Africa look like "peaking" - even Scotland in their group game exposed an enormous weakness in South Africa's death bowling.

You could probably argue they peaked before the tournament though. Off the top of my head I can recall them being awesome in the lead-up and possibly even overtaking the crims in the world rankings.

Did they beat the rest of the world in anything without the help of food poisoning? {cough, cough, Rugby World Cup, cough, cough}

There's a reason why the Saffies havent won the WC in cricket.

There names are Warne, McGrath and Waugh

1. Drop How and Oram. Bring in Mcglashan and Bennett.
2. ???
3. Profit!

Learning to play spin @>5rpo somewhere along the way would be nice too. Sadly, this was pretty much the result expected from all though.

90 runs @ 12, strike rate 53 - Jamie How's record since coming back into this New Zealand team.

It's gone past a joke, how can anyone justify him being the first reserve batsmen?

Good work NZ, excellent strategic loss there. We're going to walk the fine line between not peaking early and not peaking at all. Look out suckaz!

Edit: Would advise other NZ fans to think twice before watching for the next three weeks while we try to default our way into the quarter finals.

I know cetain people on this forum love Nathan McCullum, but unless he starts taking wickets, his bowling is of little help to New Zealand. Yes, he concedes a modest run rate, but his bowling average is over 50, and he's taken just 12 wickets in 19 games. Opposition sides are perfectly happy to tick the run rate over at 4 or 5 in the middle overs, provided they don't lose any wickets. Taking wickets breaks up momentum and reduces the amount of damage a side can do in the death overs. If McCullum continues to concede between 45 and 55 runs per innings, and manages a wicket only every couple of matches, then he's really only doing what any part timer like Ryder or Styris could do in a similar situation.

Maybe his wicket taking ability will improve when he gets to bowl in conjunction with Vettori (which he hasn't really had the opportunity to do in recent months), but it'll have to if he wants to stay in the side beyond this world cup. You can say what you like about Jeets, but he picked up more than a wicket a match on average, and this is what McCullum needs to do (at the least) if he is to be of value to the Black Caps and make a meaningful contribution at this tournament.
