i too thought that hafeez showed plenty of potential in england, especially in pacing his innings and batting till the end. unfortunately since that first ODI in the natwest challenge, his performance have gone down the drain. averages over 40 in tests though, although his only opponents have been b'desh.garage flower said:I liked the look of Hafeez when he was in England. Wouldn't he be a good like-for-like replacement for Shoaib Malik?
No he's not, he is not a very good slogger, very strong and he can certainly hit hard but it's just not his natrual game to slog.marc71178 said:Is he actually the best option for that role?
I wish I weren't so pessimistic, but they said he was ready to go last season and he bowled medium-paced trash and then got injured again. One would hope I'm proven wrong, but my gut says otherwise.garage flower said:Seems needlessly pessimistic unless you have some solid evidence. The reports I've read suggest he's looking good and raring to go for the new season.
Good to see Collins finding some rhythm straight away.Mister Wright said:Victoria won by 7 wickets 3/205 in 32 overs. Elliot made 87 (98) & Hussey 83* (62).
Collins 2/26 (7) Bravo 1/20 (2).

I'm not going to worry too much at this stage - there's bound to be a bit of rust. Hopefully, things will start to come together over the weekend against Australia A.Mister Wright said:About the only one.
Mohammad Asif was anything but crap in the Sydney Test. Did you actually watched the Test match or just looked at the figures?wahindiawah said:Pakistan have no chance of making it to the final as they ae completely demoralised now, have just one specialist bowler in shoaib (Asif and khalil are crap so can't be considered) and the loss of Malik and Razzak(?) is a huge blow to them.
Final... Aus vs WI
Winner Aus
To be fair it is their first match in 102 days so I don't think it will mean much to them.Mister Wright said:About the only one.
bryce said:the pakistani management don't rate him as a one-day bowler, as you will see on his record he as not played alot of ODI's compared with tests, still i think he should of definately been included, also has mohammud sami been sent home because of injury or simply not picked?
No you don't. Bevan & Lehmann have been getting away with being shocking fielders for pretty much their entire careers.LongHopCassidy said:Sadly, you have to be adept in at least 2 of the 3 skills of batting, bowling or fielding to be successful in one-day cricket.
Although I agree beggars can't be choosers, with Danish the only front line spin option for Pakistan.
yeah i dont know how he would go but his bowling record is pretty good in domestic OD cricket i thought.Linda said:Are Pakistan delusional? Surely they cannot send home their best performed, and most promising player?!
What does it matter if hes a bunny, and a shocker in the feild? He can bowl well to the best side in the world, and try his guts out, which is alot more than any of those other Pakistani bowlers did.
Yes he has 106 wickets @ 23.58 with a s/r of 34.6 and an econ of 4.08.age_master said:yeah i dont know how he would go but his bowling record is pretty good in domestic OD cricket i thought.
