He wasn't being anti-Nepal - it's just that there were penalties on the line that Neil would have had to pay if England had lost to them.TIF said:I just cant understand why is Neil so anti-Nepal I am waiting for the day when Nepal beats England in cricket and it will be interesting to see Neils reaction on that.

Surely some mistake? Not at Under-19 level it isn't. England's captain, Moeen Ali, isn't exactly optimistic about his side's prospects of reaching the semi-finals of the U19 World Cup.

I'm not anti-Nepal at all - I picked them out four years ago as ones to watch for the future (see here, here and here).TIF said:I just cant understand why is Neil so anti-Nepal I am waiting for the day when Nepal beats England in cricket and it will be interesting to see Neils reaction on that.
I see your point and have found out that your are not anti-Nepal. The point was that after India, I decided to support Bangladesh and Nepal for the u-19 world cup and with Nepal is a "easy" group, I thought that Nepal had a good chance to top their group, thats why I called Nepal as Pool D favourites. But yes, Nepal are coming up and should win or finish in the top 5 in the ICC Trophy(world cup qualifiers) in 2009 and qualify for the 2011 world cup and get ODI status. They do have many youngsters coming up and 1 of their batsmen, Kanishka Chaugai has impressed me. I have seen him in action way back in 2003 when he played a useful knock of 40-something against India in the 3rd ODI of the 3 match series played in 2003. When Nepal do get into international cricket, Chaugai will be the surprise package just like JB Burger was for Namibia.Neil Pickup said:I'm not anti-Nepal at all - I picked them out four years ago as ones to watch for the future (see here, here and here).
My sole point (and a correct one at that) was that they're not yet good enough to be termed "favourites". Now that this slightly brain-dead avatar challenge is over, I can get back to supporting them all the way to the Plate final.
