Yeah it's not like this side lacks for bowling options. Bizarre that any of those didn't get a bowl in the first ten and Wheeler shouldn't have bowled a third, let alone a fourth.

wheeler cracked but he had poor luck early on. the crime was bowling the wrong colin. CdG is a bit of a buffet in limited overs. Handy nibbler with a red ball (and destroyed pakistan in a test match lel) but always been expensive with a white ball.

As for NZ - catching, lack of second spinner, huge wides and no balls, not trying slow trash when 130-135 length bowling was not working, Wheeler's head explosion - take your pick.

Bad night for Kane. He does not seem to be a natural T20 player or T20 captain. Would love to play him at backgammon, doesn't seem to realise when he is behind and needs to take a risk.
Pace bowlers are being carted, he doesn't have the Santner option but he has Munro and Chapman who can take pace off the ball, but refuses to use them when he had a chance (probably 12th or 13th over instead of giving deG or Wheeler a 3rd), which commits Wheeler and deG to both bowling out.
Then he gambles again by giving Wheeler a 4th, rather than bowling out Boult and Southee by the end of the 18th to try to get wickets or push up the RRR.
