A very interesting race at the top of the table. Only two wins separate Australia and England, and if England win and Australia lose a Test, England clinches. If England wins two Tests, Australia must sweep to remain in it. Basically it's a must-win situation for Australia and a don't-lose situation for England.

On the other end of the spectrum, Sri Lanka must be swept by South Africa and India must sweep the West Indies if India are to get off sole last place.

For starters...Vincent, Wiseman, Butler and Martin are not in the 30 players available for selection.

The selection commitee will review the squad tonight. We have been thinking since the squad was announced that because the New Zealand team have no chance of winning season 1, nor can we finish last that it may be time to give the star performers a rest before the commencement of season 2. We would also like to see what the players who have not played consistently, what they are capable of. A reviewed touring squad will be announced tonight.
