Confess I am beginning to reach this conclusion too. Interesting dissection of his action by Benords there.
C'mon mate now can't a young lad even bowl a few erratic balls, remember he is just 20 and still has some way to go but he has all the attributes, and its not as if he's here purely on potential like Starc or Hazelwood, he is one of the leading wicket-takers at the FC level.

Interesting, Cook had no intention of hitting the ball through the off-side off the front foot against O'Keefe. Refused to play against the spin unless it was short, trying to turn the defensive shot to the leg-side.

Came down the wicket but didn't get in line with the ball like he did earlier when he drop-kicked O'Keefe for four over mid-wicket, ended up playing across the line a bit.

Mate, tbh I just don't think his action is repeatable enough to see him bowl consistently well at the highest level. I grant you he's only young, but I just worry about his action is all.

Cook gone. And KP in against a SLA bowler.

Deja-vu for me

Yes I am disappointed that Hazlewood hasn't done any better at FC level :(

You can see why George excites some people, when he gets it together he manages to get a bit of outswing from a good height. He just doesn't have the consistency in his action at this stage.

Pietersen on the walk a bit, rather than barging on the front foot like you see in his prime.

Yeah AWTA. He doesn't always make the best use of his height and 'consistent' definitely isn't a word you'd use to describe his action. Surprisingly very accurate though; bowled pretty well on Test debut after his first spell IMO.

Haha the commentators are noticing Trott's funny little idiosyncrasies for the first time. They aren't nearly as bad as they used to be or they'd really be carrying on.

O'Keefe against KP should be an interesting watch.

Bit careless from Cook. Aus attack looked pretty popgun and there for the taking. George looks like he needs a meal. At least Dorey had some meat on him.

Happy O'Keefe picked up a wicket.

But geez I wish we'd hurry up and run through this English lineup. What's the good of playing warm up games if they aren't used to demoralize the old enemy?

Would've been nice if we could manage to rig the toss.

Re: George's action, I implore those questioning it to have a good look at McGrath's action for his first 3 seasons. Shockingly, some players develop and *gasp* get better.

It does your head in.The best one is when he does it again at the end of the session and he is the last man on the pitch as everyone else is walking off.

AWTA. Not enough rumours of fire alarms being set off at the team hotel, tbh.

Or actually setting them off, for that matter.

Don't think anyone's writing him off for good. I'm in no business of making long-term predictions based on aesthetics; I'm not TumTum. :p

Finally they bowl a short one to Trott. Played an ordinary pull shot earlier, really doesn't look comfortable playing it.

Reckon he can expect a few more of those this season. That was embarrassing. And it won't get better on further watches.

Don't want to jinx it but things look good here. O'Keefe can keep bowling from that end with a short spell later from Smith. Cameron and McKay from this end. **** George off.
