Wouldn't swap the guy for any English keeper itbt.Niall O'Brien to play for England in the 5th Test TBH
England are going to steal him all in good time.Wouldn't swap the guy for any English keeper itbt.
Why pick him then?Or maybe they've decided that North is a shoo-in for the next game, so it doesn't matter if he bats or not.
Haha ... Ronny has played 4 tests and finished on the winning side 3 times against a faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better side than EnglandHaha... Ronny McDonald has 4 wickets to his name now, doing everything he can to ensure that he gets the nod ahead of Watto for the Edgbaston test.
Really tough questions for the Oz selectors as they've been faced with replacing some of the greatest players in test history and thought they'd found one of the answers in Johnson (2nd quickest to 100 wickets, breaking bones of really good players left right and centre, quick 100s etc)So guys, if it were North being replaced, who would you want? Watson or McDonald?
I'd keep North there. Two tons in four tests>>> one fifty in eight. A five-man pace attack is probably pushing it a bit too.Really tough questions for the Oz selectors as they've been faced with replacing some of the greatest players in test history and thought they'd found one of the answers in Johnson (2nd quickest to 100 wickets, breaking bones of really good players left right and centre, quick 100s etc)
I'd go back to basics and pick Clark (potentially the best bowler on either side IMO) to replace Johnson as he is accurate and penetrative, Watson to replace North (better batsman and "sometime" bowler), and McDonald to replace Hauritz
It wont happen
Gully. Neat catch.See Siddle caught him. Miscued hook then?
Johnson's done enough for me...
Well in the second innings it was just Niall O'Brien (a naturally aggressive player) taking him apart. In the first innings he was smashed by everyone.Clark on radio this morning said Johnson bowled better 2nd innings. Anyone actually know if that's right, or if he's just being diplomatic?
Well I guess it's something...Well in the second innings it was just Niall O'Brien (a naturally aggressive player) taking him apart. In the first innings he was smashed by everyone.
I'm telling you now, I would so much rather facing McDonald or Clark than Johnson and Siddle. Especially Siddle, considering Johnson is having trouble putting it on the pitch, let alone bowling good balls consistently.I think England would least like to face Clark and McDonald so hopefully Johnson and Siddle can keep their places.
