Oz could do a lot worse than pick McDonald for the 3rd test

IMO, he is a quality professional who'll bowl straight and be tough to remove

Haha... Ronny McDonald has 4 wickets to his name now, doing everything he can to ensure that he gets the nod ahead of Watto for the Edgbaston test.

So guys, if it were North being replaced, who would you want? Watson or McDonald?
Really tough questions for the Oz selectors as they've been faced with replacing some of the greatest players in test history and thought they'd found one of the answers in Johnson (2nd quickest to 100 wickets, breaking bones of really good players left right and centre, quick 100s etc)

I'd go back to basics and pick Clark (potentially the best bowler on either side IMO) to replace Johnson as he is accurate and penetrative, Watson to replace North (better batsman and "sometime" bowler), and McDonald to replace Hauritz

It wont happen

I'd keep North there. Two tons in four tests>>> one fifty in eight. A five-man pace attack is probably pushing it a bit too.

Other than that, I suppose I agree. Hauritz really shouldn't be dropped, but it's the only way you're going to get your best players on the pitch as part of a well-balanced side.

Just when I think Johnson couldn't get Boycott's mother out he goes and gets a tailender.I'm assuming that is marginally better.

Clark on radio this morning said Johnson bowled better 2nd innings. Anyone actually know if that's right, or if he's just being diplomatic?

Well in the second innings it was just Niall O'Brien (a naturally aggressive player) taking him apart. In the first innings he was smashed by everyone.

I think England would least like to face Clark and McDonald so hopefully Johnson and Siddle can keep their places. :)

I'm telling you now, I would so much rather facing McDonald or Clark than Johnson and Siddle. Especially Siddle, considering Johnson is having trouble putting it on the pitch, let alone bowling good balls consistently.

Went down to Northampton today to catch the last day, pretty good day all round.

Took quite a few photos, they're not great but here's some of the better ones, the others are all on facebook.
