He and Clarke put on together like a 400 run partnership in that same series IIRC, set a whole bunch of records. Rare you see a team just hit the wall like that Indian side did in that series.

To be fair, the thing I hate about Shami is actually that he does not downhill ski well enough to be a match winner. He is usually the best bet against set batsmen and in tough conditions. But if we have an attack that will have us on top of most batting line ups in most conditions, I would rather have guys who can maintain pressure and run through sides. If we did not have the new Ishant, Bumrah and Siraj, Shami will always play.

Anyway, this isnt terrible, hope Bumrah gets reward for his work today. If they get bowled out for low 400s it'd atleast give India room to save face a bit before the next test. India's second innings is simultaneously almost entirely pointless for the game's result but quite vital for how they go for the rest of the series.
