Was the 01-02 series where we missed the Tri-series final and which led to Steve Waugh's dropping from the ODI side.Unbeaten Bevan hundred in the VB series to bring Australia back from the brink; McCullum dropped him as sub fielder. Bichel hit the winning runs.
I realise that the whole Bevan/Bichel comeback thing happened to New Zealand a few times though so it probably doesn't narrow it down completely. I think it was the only non-World-Cup edition of that exact storyline though.
yeah true. That's if Test cricket lasts that long
Ahhhh, that time Australia only beat NZ in 1 out of 4 matches. Gotcha. Was the 01-02 series where we missed the Tri-series final and which led to Steve Waugh's dropping from the ODI side.
Test cricket will still be around mate. It's survived two world wars, the depression, splits, Rebel tours, a whole rebel system and boycotts of its member nations. That's if Test cricket lasts that long
Ah right, yeah, I remember the one. Remember being both absolutely crushed and in awe of Bevan at the same time.Unbeaten Bevan hundred in the VB series to bring Australia back from the brink; McCullum dropped him as sub fielder. Bichel hit the winning runs.

To be very honest, there's very few people outside Aus and Eng (including those on this forum) who give a **** about Test cricket. And it's unfortunate.Test cricket will still be around mate. It's survived two world wars, the depression, splits, Rebel tours, a whole rebel system and boycotts of its member nations.
None of those are as awful as the BCCI having de facto control over it, but history suggests the long game will survive.
