Somehow I get the feeling that Strauss is going to entrust Broad with the new ball in an effort to point out his cricketing acumen. Given the apparent flatness of the pitch, wasting the new ball is a luxury that we cant afford.

If England had said no...would Manou be allowed as a sub keeper, but not be allowed to bat? Or would a regular team member have to keep?

The first ball of this Test was bowled by Jimmy Anderson to Shane Watson.

Regardless of what happens in the rest of the game, this will be forever remembered as the greatest Test of all time.

Think the law was changed after Bob Taylor made his comeback from the crowd versus NZ when Bruce French got sconed, so it'd have to be one of the XI.
