aussies bat first, make 270, India chase it down and the blame goes on decision and dew diligence
aussies bowl first, make little inroads, India post 350, blame goes on decision and probably venue

think the bottom line is aussies started with maybe 1 in 4, 1 in 5 chance of winning and don't think whether they batted or bowled would have made much of a difference. that said their 1 in... chance probably rested on a big total and I think their best shot would have been bat first, not much of a shot but...
