I asume you know Gilly is a number 7 in tests so isn't a opener... however iam not sure if it makes any difference where you bat a player

Players can bat anywhere you want them to. I could open the batting with Walsh and Garner if I wanted to.

yeah i know. but seeing as though he opens in ODI's and i can't find another opener :P.

and yeah it does count. i checked ITC just before and when u create/edit players it has a specific batting order section.

Yes it does but I think your find that is if a comp has to pick a team it doesn't pick 11 bowlers etc.

I don't think playing a number 5 as a opener will effect his game so to speak.

Not too disappointed that Simon's packed it with spin seeing as I have 2 better spinners than any of his!

the thing is the difference between our best fast bowlers is much greater than the difference between our best spinners.
theres no way i could compete with the likes of Wasim or Waqar.

well quite a few changes after the first test loss. a couple of medium pace bowlers in at the expense of wicketkeeper engineer and fast bowler srinath, we bat a lot lower in this match, we will rely upon the spinners again in this match, but hopefully we can get something out of Binny and Ganguly the medium pacers.
Dravid has been handed the gloves for this match. this may only be short term at this stage.
