Hewitt was never ready for the open. There was no doubt about it. It reflects nothing on his natural ability as a player... he was just plain rusty. I'm sure he harbored thoughts of getting to the semi's against Federer and considering he's done it the last few grand slams I don't find it laughable that he was upset again Jono.

Great to see Hingis win but. She's definately what I watch the tennis for. Such a lovely woman, and a great tennis mind. The draw without Pierce (at least for the nexxt round) has somewhat opened up for her.

In the mens half I'm going for James Blake and Andy Roddick. Both are real characters. I've always been a Roddick fan but lately James Blake looks really classy and I want him to do really well.

Ancic playing Fererrer (sp) in the third round! Third round! They`re seeded 18 and 11 respectively, so that just seems stupid.

Baghdatis is romping Gremelmayr at the moment, probably spurred one by a massive crowd on SC 3.

I's ure you wouldn't be complaining if Ancic was winning Nathan! :D

I don't care what he was thinking, the media didn't have to build it up luck he was robbed of an Australian Open final chance because he was drawn on Federer's side. Hell he had a chance to win the Aus Open last year with Federer knocked out by Safin but lost in 4 sets, so its not like Federer was the only player stopping Hewitt from winning this tournament.

Then again, Hewitt wouldn't have been thinking much other than "Fix the court damn it" these past few weeks.

Serena fighting back here against Hantuchova. Was down 3 match points, saved them to take the 2nd set to a tie-break. Was down 3-0 in the tie-break and has got it to 4-3 her way.

Can't win the tie-break though, Hantuchova held strong and knocks Serena out in straight sets.

Lovely ?
She takes unsportsmanship behaviour in tennis to new heights.......
umm how exactly???

She's always smiling, always seems very pleasent to her opponents and never has many problems with the umpires...

unless by unsportsmanship you mean that she beats everyone??

hmm i don't think the media were building it up as much as they had in the past... Hewitt was always a big long shot to perform well here...

In my opinion though the courts are very slow. It seems that hitting winners is very hard because the ball isn't zipping through. At the end of the day however both players are playing on the same court however so it's equally as detrimental to both of them. The slow courts in my opinion don't make the game unfair it just makes it a little more boring to watch.
