Verdasco is a pretty tricky first-round draw.

Federer has Dolgopolov next which sounds tough on paper as well. Then possibly Dimitrov in the third.

Wow... well done Verdasco. Thought he was done when he failed to serve out the fourth set.

Rafa doesn't hold serve enough these days, especially on hard court. Too vulnerable to losing his serve.

This clears up Murray's path to the final quite nicely. Can see yet another Djokovic-Murray final with Djokovic winning again.

That Halep loss is ridiculous. I watched it, she was just blasted off the court by a player who's never made the 2nd round in a Slam I believe.

Nothing new there for Halep. Freezes against any player who attacks her a bit in a Slam match.

The fallout has been very silly and totally missing the point of these reports. Federer, Rusedski etc have all came out and said the usual PR spin "tennis is clean, show us the proof " etc.

What they are missing is all these fixes it is pretty much impossible to prove now years after the fact. All the information would be pretty much gone. Obviously the players at it deserve to be banned in a proper world, but the annoynace for so many is the fact the ATP has never shown any interest in tackling this whatsoever. Its content to wheel out the usual pr bollocks and point to a few players who have been banned now and then.

A good interview here with Scott Ferguson who knows his betting and has wrote articles about bent matches.

Also this is a good listen.

BBC Radio 4 - File on 4, Tennis: Game, Set and Fix?

Its basically guys betfair, police etc all trying to investigate and follw up on fixing and the ATP not been particularly interested.

I did like Davydenko claiming he was too scared to discuss that match from 2007.

The fact that all involved in that match got away with it is disgusting, but even in more recent times, we have had challenger players at it which have been flagged by all even Rothenberg and nothing has happened.

DW on Sport: How To Fix a Tennis Match (by Denys Molchanov)

The above is a great article on Molchanovs a journeyman on the challenger tour, his match was clearly bent, many journalists commented on it, heck even Rothenberg retweeted that link a few times, but nothing happened and he even showed up for Aussie Qualifiers last week. If a journeyman can get away with something so blatant, its pointless to even speculate about tennis getting their house in order under Kermode.
