Fed won pretty damn convincingly in Cincinnati, didn't even face a break point. I know this is a best of five, and Novak is more likely to be able to last longer, but Roger hasn't exactly had a tough time of it so far, has breezed through ALL of his matches so far. I'd have Djokovic as favourite; he didn't play at his best in Cinci or Montreal, and had a couple of fitness issues, both of which seem to have been eradicated now. But it should be a high quality, close game.

Why is it insulting? So your second serve isn't fast enough to discourage this, so what? Do something else, like practice lobs, or create better angles on serve.

I hate when a sport is so far up it's own arse that it considers anything against convention against the spirit or so what. One of the things I don't like about tennis tbh.

hey a women's tennis match with little to no screeching, screaming, squealing or howling...what a nice change! first set into a tie-break...

No it's not. Good on Fed if he wins on Sunday night, he deserves another Slam considering he has blown everyone away in being as awesome as he is at 34.

He is the most amazing athlete I've ever seen I reckon, although Usain Bolt and Ultimate Warrior are up there.
he is but it is still asking a lot for him to hang with djokovic in a 5 setter at his age...his serving prowess will be largely neutralized by novak's returns and overall defense...i see novak winning in 3 or 4...

Apparently Fed has run 4.5km less than Djokovic this tournament up to now. It's not as big a physical gap as it could've been.

it was more or less the same situation at wimbledon, on a surface that federer used to own, is considered the greatest ever on...and look what happened...this surface favors novak much more, he is incredibly fit and grinds like no one else can...

from her comments, i thought she was saying she was done right now...?
You could be right. I didn't see the speech. I just read that she'd said that she'd already made up her mind a month ago to retire at the end of the year. If she's brought that forward I think that would be the best way to go out.

I don't think retirement is that easy for tennis players.. I heard Federer mention once that his endorsement contracts run through a season. So any time he decides to retire, he will have to inform them well in advance.

It's unlikely that Pennatta would have the kind of commitments that Federer has.
