*Official* T20 Tri-Series in NZ (NZ, Pakistan, Bangladesh)

70/1 after 10 for the second match running will do the job this match. Though worth noting that England currently 94/0 after 8 overs vs Australia. How can we find a way to compete with that?
well englands batting is just unreal, a clear intent as well despite whatever surface they play on....also helped by the fact that neither of hzelwood, starc, cummins or zampa are playing today

KW looks such a shadow of himself. Thinking back to his batting in the 2020/21 summer and he just looked so totally imperious, like an international pro coming back to play a game for his local club side.

didn't realise that - makes a big difference

Bangladesh made the mistake of giving Conway width - could've kept NZ under a little pressure without those two boundaries. Edit - and another.

I love that conway is TRYING. And it is paying off now. Fortune favours the brave. Kane, ffs, how much more criticism will it take for you to TRY and hit a boundary. I'm beginning to wonder if he even has the capability to generate the force to hit a 4 even. Its embarrassing.

At this point we have to assume his elbow is restricting him, surely? Perhaps that's just me wanting to give Kane the benefit of the doubt. Certainly blame an overly cautious approach over the last couple seasons too, but it doesn't seem like he can get the bat-speed and power he wants when he tries to hit a boundary.

Kane is done as a world class talent imo. Never looked the same since he had elbow issues. He will still be a great hand for NZ but the era of him being amongst the best will never come again

A lot of me feels the same way, but the optimist in me believes he'll find it again. He's still only 32, would be unusually early to fully fall off, even with the injuries.

A lot of analysis (rightly) of Kane's sub-par T20 form. The way I see it, he was able to play that format when he was at the absolute top of his game, and plays like this when he isn't. We've seen it before. I remember Doull copping it in 2018 because he (again, rightly) wanted Kane to give away T20 and he then found subsequent form. Now he's not on top of his game again due to injuries, burnout, fatherhood whatever it is, and he's just not capable of functioning as a T20 player when he's not hitting it well. Especially on our decks where he has to work harder to time it.

Honestly, I can see a world where he goes to Australia and hits it OK if the pitches allow. And I still hold faith that he's got more runs in him in Tests + 50 overs. But he's never going to find form in this format in this series.

Incidentally, I absolutely loved Glenn Phillips going into the crowd to check on the person who got hit. Such is his passion, I reckon he would've done it at Eden Gardens over a barbed wire fence or 50 rows back at the MCG. I also enjoyed him saying they were trying to bowl **** height to Pakistan the day before

Pretty sure bond on comm yesterday said that sears is injured as well...so looks like we have no extra pace options at 100% really. Except maybe kuggs but his seemed pretty bleh from the little bit of him I saw in the CPL.
