And another six off Mason. If it didn't mean an Australian team was beating a NZ team, it'd be pretty funny.

Don't get mad at me Flem. If CD's players hadn't dunked their hands in the olive oil before going out to field, they would've cleaned up today.

A couple of weeks time might've been a start.

The English season was actually pulled back a week to ensure it would fit in with the dates they were aware of. Then suddenly the competition is pulled even earlier so it clashes with the English season and the England Pakistan ODIs. It would obviously struggle to fit in with all International games, but there's no reason why it couldn't have fitted in where it was originally going (especially since the ECB did make efforts to compromise with their fixture list)
I'm no fan of Modi, but I really don't have a problem with the scheduling....

The CL was brought forward to make sure it didn't clash with the Australia-India Test series, and it so happened to clash with the last week of the county season. This was discussed between the ECB and the CL between Feb and April of this year, and David Collier said that county cricket fixtures were 'sacrosanct'. So, there was no room for compromise, it seems.

Contrast this situation with a poorer, weaker organisation such as the WICB. The CL said to the WICB that deciding their 20/20 winners in July was too late for the CL, and could they please bring the tournament forward in future? The WICB agreed, and the next domestic 20/20 tournament will be in January.

Now, would the ECB pay any attention to such a request like that from the CL? Their current winners are decided in August, and their fixtures are 'sacrosanct'. IMHO, if the counties want to take part in the CL, then the ECB needs to be flexible when they go to the negotiating table....
