What an odd scoreline to wake up to. Looking back, the dumb runout of Chapman was probably the defining moment, should've set 15-20 more which would have been enough.

NZ also selected three pace bowlers who bowled a total of 2.5 overs between them. Needed more anti-cricket fingerspin on a pitch where even Phillips could bowl 4 overs for 17.

I disagree completely, it looks like it was a fantastic pitch. Very fun to have this for a change. Anyway our spinners were underbowled. I understand the just-in-case-there's-swing Duffy over, but Chapman should've bowled another, and Santner maybe left back to the final. No need for any Tickner. I think this sort of pitch will also make watchers appreciate the hitting on the inevitable flattie in a few days' time more, aside from this pitch itself making for a ****ing amazing game.

Sounds like this pitch was similar to that Bangladesh T20 series/tour when Ravindra, Allen etc debuted and Ajaz was un-hittable. Which was by far the most fun T20 series I've ever watched.

Fell asleep in front of the box during the change of innings not thinking I'd miss too much. Woke up and looked at the T.V in a blur to see
6 runs required off 6 balls. Hope we can put in a good display for the decider.
If anything good has come in recent times it's the ability of our spinners to perform well in sub continent conditions, good signs for the cup
later in the year.
