Its a dead game why not?
Understand your point, but shouldn't Asif be getting as many overs into him as possible considering the stop-start nature of his career in the last 12 months or so?

Or has he had plenty of domestic cricket whilst missing the WC? I do admit to not knowing.

I just think the more cricket Asif plays the better, though I'm not watching. His figures don't look good at all it must be said.

Its +40 degrees and 3 games in 6 days must be taking its toll on his body and considering he is short of match fitness its bound to effect him, for the last 2 games this is the worst i have seen him bowl since his debut game against Aus which shows he really needs to up his fitness level if he has to survive the rigours of international cricket.

Yeah all good points.

With regards to the match, pretty vital run out by Dilshan there one thinks. I was just about to put a little on Pakistan but I may hold off now.

Man you just got to love Waqar, some of Waqar's gems.

Blewett: That's an ordinary effort by Rehman
Waqar: oo that's worse than ordinary, that's...ordinary effort

"Jayasuria likes to have his room, but Najaf not giving him a room"

"No Janath Sayasuria is a big blow to Sri Lanka"

"That gap between cover and point is very beautiful"

"don't think there was anything wrong with the ball, it was just there to be hit"

I thought waqar was pretty good this time, mainly because both him and Fernando were in together:laugh:

Feel sorry for Fawad Alam...driving a full toss straight back to Dilhara Fernando. Good catch mind. Ooh and Akmal unluckily run out backing up at the non-strikers end.:(

Surprised Pakistan felt it necessary to dick around with their batting order especially the openers once more. Nazir was hardly in need of a rest and ‘resting’ Afridi was also rather unnecessary considering his excellent performances in the previous games.

i don't know what is the point of trying players like hafeez again and again in one day games. he might be a good opener in a few years for test matches but why trying him in one day games.

Couldn't agree with you more. Don't see the point in resting batsmen, especially openers who are desperately in need of some time at the crease.

Resting those players was stupid TBH...its not like they have played a lot of cricket lately. It wud've been better if they these players could have improved their form even more and prepare themselves for future tours.

Perhaps they felt the need to play an under-strenght team as Sri lanka did. Maybe they were embarrased to playa strong team.....or felt that SL were taking the mick and so they had to 'rest' a few players...who knows?

This match came on, of all channels, DD Sport. I can't get highlights of this match, so I'd like to know how the seamers, particularly Maharood and Dilhara, performed. Dilhara's followed his dreadful performance in the last match with a much-improved one here.

I don't think it was the worse move ever by Pakistan to rest players. In a dead rubber you might as well see what other options you have. Changing the openers was strange though, especially after they showed some promise.

A couple postives out of this series for me. Chamara Silva continues to improve as batsmen and is looking the real deal. The middle order of Sangakkara, Jayawardene and Silva looks pretty promising.

That innings from Maharoof in the 1st game, is something we have been looking for down the order for sometime. Hopefully if Kapugedera can get a run down the order and with Lokuarachchi looking like taking the 2nd spinner spot. We might just have three players tha can solve our lower hitting problem. I do expect though that all three will be hit and miss for a while, but all it takes is one to get doing and we could add 20-30 runs to our score.
