*Official* Sri Lanka Tour of New Zealand 2018/19

Migara

International Coach
Most runs - Dimuth Karunarathne
Most Wickets - Suranga Lakmal

this is for SL.

It's very simple. For SL to at least compete, DK, Mathews and Chandimal all three has to fire every innings with support from others. Lakmal, Kumara and Rajitha, all have to bowl equally well. Dilruwan has to make his 25 runs per innings. His bowling is dependable, but will be about containing.

Haha yeah I really like watching him bowl but this may even be flattering him; I have his standardised average down as 42.

Jon Lewis as batting coach Sri Lanka? Expect 20mins innings, batting collapses galore, and two day defeats.

Is it actually possible to buy an RA Vance stand seat at a test match, or are we just meant to sneak in when nobody’s looking (what I usually do). It always says sold out on Ticketek, which it clearly never is. I like sitting up there later in the day after the embankment has robbed me of my energy and formerly non-fluorescent red skin.

im a noted non-rater of sri lankas attack but they did give nz a massive scare last time when pradeep clicked. if someone has a great day we could get a cracker game this week.

Lakmal, Kumara and Rajitha did very well in the last test to square the series in West Indies.
If it is a pitch that clearly favours pace, it evens things between the two attacks; the Sri Lankans would be a threat.

Can recall at least a couple of tests in recent times (vs India 2014, Australia 2016) when the Basin pitch was extremely bowler friendly in the first couple of sessions and then flattened out and became full of runs. On both occasions NZ were ambushed on day 1 (India test obviously was drawn thanks to *that* rearguard from McCullum and Watling, but Australia won the other by an innings). If Lanka get the best of the bowling conditions, who knows.

Always look forward to New Zealand home tests for some late night viewing.

It could be a long few months for Sri Lanka if they don't start well. For New Zealand I am interested in seeing if Raval can hang on to his spot. The side is pretty much set otherwise.

He's pretty accurate, but relies more on variation off the deck than flight or loop, can occasionally get nice drift into the left handers, would be very surprised if he was a potent threat in NZ though. If he can get a few to turn his straighter ball might be of some value

I don't think the attack will have much firepower tbh, Pradeep and Chameera haven't played much since the last NZ tour, particularly in the last year, the current attack is built around Lakmal, relying more on consistency and extracting movement, only Kumara of the incumbent seamers has much in terms of pace and aggression, there is just a little bit of Pat Cummins about him, hits the pitch harder than most SL quicks
