Seifert looks a total spud
I have to think he has more with the bat than he's shown in his T20I innings so far and today. Have seen him miss quite a few deliveries by a long way, including getting bowled a couple of times in T20s when he got nowhere near it. Must be better than that, given his FC record and having seen highlights of some of his domestic T20 innings. Nerves might explain some of it, I guess.

Still fumbling with the gloves tonight too, which doesn't help.

Ronchi has joined the coaching staff for the tour - Perhaps for this reason. Gotta hand it to the Lankans, we'd be in major trouble if it wasn't for Neesham. Thankfully someone has put their hand up to compete with CDG.

These dead pitches though.. Far out. Henry is down on pace, 135km or there abouts, was in the late 130s-140s last time I saw him. No swing for anyone today.

good win and worked well as a World Cup audition - learned more one way or another about Munro, Nicholls, Seifert, Neesham, Henry and Ferguson

good chase from sl. switched to the alt commentary which even with the abuse for kusal leaving the ball and not running hard between the sticks still manages to be less biased than ian smith and co.

also a good discussion about who would have the better orgy - newshub or tv 1

I hope he proves me wrong, but the time to give henry a run was over two years ago. Looks like a shadow of his former self.
He wasn't good on flat pitches two years ago either and we know he doesn't have good variations, slower balls etc. Absolutely deserves a run though. What I want from him this series is new-ball wickets - that would differentiate him from Southee.

Not Terrible
We have more promising guys at the domestic level than Henry now. Honestly dont see the need to persist.

Do we? Long term maybe but who might be ready in five months? We've tried Rance and Wheeler with little success and others like Jamieson, Tickner, Duffy are yet to debut for nz. It's a step up and they would need time to have a chance of doing that.

Milne still an option if he can get on the park. I don't mind Bennett but hasn't done that well in nz a matches.

Give Henry three or four matches to make his case.

Splendid comeback from Neesham. Was probably happiest about his performance with the ball than anything else. His talent with bat in hand has never been in question.
