Mathews can't really run at all ... hard to see how he can continue here, unless it's purely to block, and they don't worry about runs whatsoever.

Man would be an absolute joke if SL got away with another draw here
Can't see it really. Mendis now on one leg, and really these two are the last batsmen of proven quality remaining. They're going to have to bat for close to 3 more sessions for SRL to have a chance.

Anyone else think we’re seeing Wagner age before our eyes, almost 33 now. His style of bowling will not age well at all.
He's had a sub-par couple of tests but has looked better today imo, much more testing for the batsmen. Agree his approach won't age well - take 5-10% off those bouncers and they're gimme half-trackers rather than testing bouncers that hurry the shot. I think/hope it's too early to start to worry about that, give it 18 months before that might bite.

SL have also played him quite well - not sucked in by ego to play the hook.

Haven't been actually watching, not good to hear about a matthews injury though, it's going to be a looooooong few months if he can't stay in shape.

Both Roshen Silva and Dickwella were involved in a pretty unlikely rearguard in India that resulted in a draw, they batted well around DM de Silva on that occasion, if we can get to stumps no more than 4 down we're a very outside chance.

That's what we wanted to see from Wags. Top delivery, Chandimal didn't know whether to play or duck and tried both.

Howsie is Wagner's lucky star. Every time he comes out of the woodwork to have a pop at him, Wagner grabs another bag.

Nice to see SL have the belief that a blockathon is possible after the previous test.

What is it with these new age Sri Lankan players busting their hammies and what not. Every second test match Chandimal or Mathews seems to have an issue.
