There's nothing more "casual fan who doesn't know it" than having a full care cup over who the national vice captain is IMO.

What is a more interesting discussion point is whether aboriginal religion should be taught outside of RE classes as it currently is. And where their religion ends and their culture outside the religion begins.

I'm not a 'casual fan wh doesnt know it'. I've been watching cricket longer than you've been born and vc used to mean something, not give it away like now with 4 vc's in last 2 Tests

Not that it's an argument either way. Lots of casual fans who don't know it have been exclusively watching their own's team's home cricket with the odd session from an away series for 40 years, and exclusively consuming media from their own team's country for that period. That's pretty much the dictionary definition of it tbh.

"Caring about this makes you less than me" was a pretty dire line of argument from me in the first place tbf, I shouldn't have gone there. I get frustrated in non-CW fanland and annoyed when I encounter it more on CW, but no excuse.
