Bizarre how Oz have gone from stonewalling to attacking every ball with Cummins wicket.

Obviously they're doing it with if wickets fall that they get a crack at SL tonight but such and abrupt change suggests the tactics and communication within the Oz side aren't the best atm.
the tactics have been really really average all summer across all teams. obviously paine and finch are responsible for that, but the common factor - as well as the abrupt deterioration compared to last year - suggests there's an alternate explanation...

well I do not understand the tactics at all
Paine has consistently proven himself a tactical nonentity and your veiled serve at Langer is well placed. Just get the eight overs at them in. If worst comes to worst we get more new ball tomorrow night.

The eight-nine overs we would have gotten from Patterson's wicket might have been useful. Having three overs is just stupid.

yeah it's a total waste now. basically, that message never should have been sent out - they should have continued with exactly the mindset they had beforehand

Wonder if Paine wants to declare but doesn't have the confidence as a captain to do that because it may be perceived as arrogant.
