In Zimbabwe there is a grudge for anyone that doesn't agree with the system.. It's now largely irrespective of skin colour.. For example, Henry Olonga not even being allowed in the country, yet Chelsea Davy's family positively thrive there still..

I don't know what the grudge is at whites for, maybe the walkout by streak and co.
They are defiitely dewhiteing the sport just like they did soccer.
Looking at the team i can't help but think they will be murdered.
How can you leave out price and taibu their best 2 players, they will walk like the others mark my words.
I really find it hard to understand zcu policies and the way they treat their players.
And matsikinyeri gets picked whatever he does, must have the most charmed life in international cricket.Whats he average 20 something.
Nothing wrong with Matsikenyeri's selection in this instance as Sibanda, Taibu, Taylor and Williams were unavailable. As far below standard as he is and as much as he's been given a free ride at times, he was the best option for this game.

Anyway, as for the performance - losing wickets to Mendis was always going to be excusable and it seems they played him relatively well given he only picked up 4/59. Fernando taking 3/19 off 11 is pretty damn disappointing, although in truth the batting lineup is terrible even by normal post-2003 Zimbabwe standards.

150 odd awful score long way away from a test recall.
Yes defnitely the weakest zimbabwe batting line up i have seen.
Ireland would kick their arse.

If the Highveld Lions don’t contract Sean Williams (his playing club cricket in Jo’Burg) then he should look at coming to England on a Kolpak. His definitely good enough to get a deal if the likes of Anthony Ireland can.

Counties have gone off zimbo kolpaks, don't see it happening.
Taibu, price, taylor and williams will just disapear from memory and more no names will pop up in the zimbabwe team to replace them.
Matsikenyeri likely to be vice captain.

Interesting decision to open with Timycen Maruma and CJ Chibhabha. Maruma's nothing more than an 8-9 batsman normally and Chibhabha hasn't opened very often recently, though I think he used to for his province. Maybe they were trying to shield Masakadza and Matsikenyeri so they could face Mendis? Unless Maruma impressed in the nets or something.

Notice that Shingi Masakadza is playing alongside his brother- interesting to see how he bowls because he's thought quite highly of.

Where's Vuzi Sibanda? I heard he got some contract to play in Australia, not sure though. Looked the best to come out of Zimbabwe post apocalypse.

Better effort for Zimbabwe with the bat. I don't expect them to handle Mendis so if he takes nine then so be it - he's taken 4/86 in the second dig.. they've played him much better than I expected really. Matsikenyeri will be disappointed to have thrown it away in the 70s against Mathews though.

Good to see Fernando getting belted.

The less said about the bowling, the better.
