Cheers, wanted a look at all the new South African names.

Quality game that for a 10 over one. Lots of clean hitting from SA while the Lankans lacked a bit of power.

are these actually the best eleven twenty twenty players or is it ann obvious quota grab

bc if it is the spin doctors will need to go to work on CSA, from memory they said that they wouldn't let the selectors get away with loading short formats with coloured players

Domestically pretty much as all the top guys were rested with the exception of AB who should play the 3rd 20/20. Think only Hendricks and Dane on form didn't warrant selection. Can't argue with Farhaan's selection, nor Mosehle, and Ngidi was for me the standout bowler in the domestic competition.
It's pretty sad how much the focus in the comments I've seen on Cricinfo and here is the colour of the squad, and you watch the highlights above, or like me at 1:00am live, and it's a black guy who wins the game for South Africa.

don't keep in touch with the south africa domestic T20 scene (though i do love me the name, ram slam for days), and did not trust cricinfo comments remotely

That flicked jab off his hips for six. My word.

Lovely athlete. Strong run-up. Strong action that will get better with time. Very similar to Ntini how he predominantly angles into right-handers but can straighten balls off the angle. Plus 140kph at 20. Hopefully one of the quicks that can take us into the post Steyn, Morkel, Philander, Abbott era going forwards. Liked him when I first saw him.
That was a ridiculous shot. Can recall Hash playing a similar one in a test against NZ, think the bowler was Shane Bond, and that was when Hash was still averaging sub 30 in tests but with that shot you knew he was legit. de Bruyn looks a great timer of the ball, apparently has had some troubles against spin as he goes very hard at the ball but he is still fairly young.

With regards to Ngidi, I think action and run up wise there is still some work needed. Doesn't seem fairly repeatable unlike say Rabada who is effortless, and you knew by looking at Ngidi he was working overtime. Maybe because of the build and the way he bowled to the right handers but I thought I saw few similarities to Andre Nel.

Nice article about Keaton Jenning's stepbrother. Senior players didn't like Ray's methods much but all the guys who have come through under Ray have always spoke so fondly of him.

I wasn't impressed with his run up. I also felt that he was falling away at the point of delivery.

They can't read Sandakan. Wicket isn't the normal Wanderers road but South Africa still need 160 odd and that's going to be hard from here.
