I think one of the great things about our great grounds is that mix of grass and seating. It's just right for a great atmosphere when well supported.

ALERT : Duminy in the 30's
The grass bank at Newlands is great for atmosphere, but it gets so rammed sometimes.

Agree. Sat there for an ODI vs Australia and couldn't move. It was the last for me.

Ever since for internationals, I've gone to Railway stand or the one's next to the Railway stand or I've been lucky enough to get an invite to a box.

Domestic games, the grass is a nice atmosphere.

I think you misunderstood my post. I would pe and kingsmead a lot less tests and certainly wouldn't give either boxing day.

I am convinced both bloem and sedwes will produce better crowds.
Not convinced about Bloem. Lovely cricket ground though & one of the best pitches in the world in my opinion. Nico Pretorius is a ledge.

Sedwes with the students possibly ?

I've been trying to watch as much as I can at work but it looks like it will be another disappointing day for Sri Lanka in these helpful conditions.

Why India? Even when India played in Durban last (and it was Jacques Kallis's final Test) they got a pitiful crowd.
Was still better attended than the preceding Wanderers test match, wasn’t it? Over 14,000 at Kingsmead on Boxing Day and under 9,000 at the Wanderers day 1. Always looks worse at the Wanderers as well due to the capacity.

Not sure, will have to take your word for it. Where'd you find attendance stats?

But scheduling a Test match just before Christmas in Johannesburg is a mug's game.
