Me too. Exciting squad selected by Pakistan.
I think they are going back to daring and bold selection policies of the 80's and 90's though I am a little weary of Ahmed Shezad getting a game at just 17, he is one of the gold mines for the future which we have to handle very carefully a failure here could dent his confidence.

Thankfully no Rao or Tanvir.

It is very saddening to see that we weren't able to chase down 392 in 90 overs. However it's nice to see Sangakkara back in sublime touch.

I have to ask the time-honoured question of Pakistani cricketers- is Shehzad really only 17?

He certainly doesn't look it.

Recently wrist testing is taking place for the U-19 WC's and from what I have heard the results you get are + or - six months from the actual age so I guess this means he is maximum 18 at best.

Wrist-testing? How can you tell someone's age from their wrist???

I hope this doesn't come off sounding like a terrible generalisation, but in NZ (as I'm sure is the case in Australia, the USA, the UK etc) there are heaps of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi etc kids here. I have never in my life come across a 15/16/17 year old kid who looks like Afridi/Razzaq/Shehzad etc etc supposedly did at that age. A vast majority of the time Indian/Pak/Bang kids actually look comparatively young for their age. This phenomenon of physically over-developed subcontintental kids seems to only arise in the subcontinent which obviously raises questions about actual age.

those days are gone where players used to add years to their age,

nowadays the under-19's are actually u19.
some wrist testing thing taking place

I see srilanka winning the test series as they are a good test side compared to pakistan,
If pakistan prepare green tracks then only they have a chance otherwise srilanka
will win the series 1-

I am not an expert on this topic I am sure McNamara can shed some light on it. Afridi and Razzaq I am sure were older then their age but I have seen Shezad quite a lot and he does look his age. Also Pakistani's especially from Punjab and Frontier reigon do develop physically much quicker then Indian, Begalis or even people from Karachi area

Mohammad Aamer is the cricketer which gets me. Apparently he is still only 16 (which means he has been around the Pak U19 side since he was 14...) but I have never seen a 16 year old who looks so 'complete' as a bowler. Scary if he really is 16 but even if he is say 19 he should play for Pakistan very soon.

In regard to age, Umar Gul is apparently more like 26 than 24 and Shahid Afridi, is pretty much know to be in his 30s...

Aamir is not a complete bowler yet he still struggles to bring the ball in which is a must for a lefty also he has Sami looks which is also quite disconcerting.

Haha, I get a day off work and Pakistan play a Test match. Confluence of two extremely rare events.
