True. PCB need a puppet not a captain. Only Malik can except a team of unfit and out of form players like Afridi, Akhter, Misbah, Akmal, and Scrap like Khurram.

Where are the young, new players who performed consistently in domestic cricket like Fawad Alam, Umar Amin, Talha, Sohail Khan, Saeed Bin Nasir etc.

i can't believe some people are calling in droping misbah.. they already forgot how much he did for pakistan in recent years..

Make younis khan the captain and drop kamran akmal, afridi for good.. as much as i hate to see afridi go.. but he has to take one for them team..

Sl has a happy knack of performance like these, its their best win in ODI since 2007 semi final. From a fan's point of view what encourages me is that all the well known stars were outplayed by the "lesser" likes of Thushara, Kula and Dilshan and Kandamby.

Will be interesting to see what we do with our pace attack. Thurshara and Kulasekara are finding their feet and showed to an extent their not minnow bashers. Maharoof and Dilhara are back from injury and look close to full fitness. I don't think we will rush Dilhara or Malinga back in until they are full fit or we have injuries. Just play them occasionally. Then you have Prasad who looked good against India in his Test debut.

One gets the feeling all this means is that we have seen the end of Chaminda Vaas. Might be time to start a tribute thread :(

Quite an attack, I'd probably go:

Malinga
Kulasekara
Maharoof/Thurshara/Fernando
Prasad


If the conditions are fast and bouncy, Fernando, if they have a bit of swing, Thurshara, if you need a bowler to toil endlessly Maharoof.

Quite a strong bowling reserve, particularly when you consider that Sri Lanka are likely to only ever use 3 at a time since they have both Murali and Mendis.

Now all we need is a few more batsman...

One dayers are pretty set imo with Malinga, Thurshara and Kulasekera the likely seamers. With Maharoof coming in when Malinga needs a rest. I think they will back Thurshara to bat at 7.

Tests it really it really could be anyone. Thurshara and Kulasekera haven't found their feet in that form. Malinga has strugged recently due to not being full fit, as had Dilhara for his whole career. I think they may go with Maharoof, Malinga and Dilhara and work on Prasad as the next best option.

I hope we use Malinga sparingly in ODIs and let in concentrate in Tests. As I feel we have enough options in ODIs, but a little short in Tests.
