Lasith Malinga is the fastest...he bowls around 92-93 mph. Dilhara can bowl upto 90 mph too...

Except when Bracewell is coaching.

If NZ plays with the same side as in AUS then 0-0 or 0-1. If Bond, Tuffy, and Papps return and Fulton comes into NZ's weak middle order then NZ 1-0 or 2-0.

What was the result of the last series home series against SL? Pretty sure NZ got done in the ODIs.
SL won 4-1.

gunawardena is not even in the squad.
Thank God for that.
Vass is in good form
Past experiences have shown that there is no such thing as form as far as Chaminda is concerned.
If he is indeed in good form, though, it's goodnight Mark Richardson.

the SL selectors have brought in TM dilshan and russel arnold for the tour of NZ. I think that's a good move, since the replacements of Dilshan and Arnold haven't done that well. I don't think arnold will play in the tests though. selectors have also given the gloves back to sangakkara in the test matches. statistics show that he is better off without them. lets see how this effects his batting.

I thought Murali was given the all clear to play right away and was planning to play in the first Test ?

I do hope NZ will have Bond and Tuffey in full fitness, because NZ Team is awesome and in a different class when the two play in the Team. It also lifts their batting performance as well . I suspect the pitches in NZ will favour the pacemen .

But SL has in Vaas, Zoysa, Dilhara and Malinga bowlers capable of performing in Seamer friendly conditions !!

murali was cleared to ball in the nets and see how the shoulder feels. he's still not 100% fit.

I will hold you to that d1ck. Richardson will bounce back and have an awesome series. Mark my words..

IMO a lot of the outcome will depend on the fall out from the AUS Tests so far as the NZL selections are concerned.............

eg - 6-4 v 5-5..............& will they bring in new blood - bat & ball??????
I'm a James Franklin fan, and deserves his chance, but after seeing him belted all around Adelaide Oval, maybe he has lost his confidence with the ball, so maybe not. Ian Bulter should play. Depending on the pitches would depend if Chris Martin should get a run or not.

For batting, I would consider giving Hamish Marshall an extended run. I will be interested to see if Craig McMillan views this as a challange and tries to work his back side off and get back into the Test XI?

And so far both have done largely nothing in their Test-careers.
Malinga's averaging about 28 after 4 tests (against Australia twice, Pakistan and South Africa). What's he done to disappoint you - had the gall to make use of a helpful pitch at Darwin against the best batting line-up in the world (on debut)?

Surprisingly the SL pace attack could trouble the Kiwis... !!! and if Murali is gonna play.. the kiwis will have alot of trouble.

I think Malinga has some potential, although his round arm action, seems to remind me of Fidel Edwards.

Yes, very similar to "Castro" from what I saw against Australia, though he's not as quick.

Not if Chaminda bowls well, he won't.
Against an in-form Chaminda, no opening-batsman really stands much of a chance.
If Chaminda's in poor form, of course, he's got a great chance.

He's nowhere near accurate enough yet and if he plays a few more Tests I'd predict the average will rise quite a bit.

Fair enough, but that's quite different from saying he's done "largely nothing" in his short career to date.
