It's at the point now that I just basically expect KW to score a century, even when he's batting in CBF mode like he has been since the tour of Aus.

I'm a big fan of stats and the Kane Williamson Average Watch thread.

I care deeply.
Have faith, as long as he doesn't lose this form it will come and he will be chasing his county championship teammate Root as to who has a higher average. Be a great battle to watch knowing they will spur each other on at the same time.

I am going to put it out there, that if he plays a leading role in NZ defeating Australia at home then the comparisons are going to start to change from Kane vs Crowe to Kane vs Hadlee.

What's Southee's average now?

Feels like such a weird test match. Angelo Mathews is not happy and rightly so; they blew it.

NZ got out of this match with the win but it's much less satisfying than the comprehensive first test win. It's another example of the laxness that has appeared regularly this year, in batting especially - it seems mean-spirited to complain but can they please try to re-strike that balance between 'express yourself' and playing the percentages that they had >12 months ago? Williamson (for the most part) put away the pulls and hooks here after what had gone before, but others weren't willing to do that.

Our bowling is improving - Southee has been good all summer, barring Adelaide, and it's great he finally picked up some good figures. Happy with how Bracewell and Wagner are bowling - they both seem to know their role in the attack now. Boult still sub-par and we need him in much better rhythm for the February series.

Obviously he as an automatic pick in an all time NZ side already. The only question now is whether he is first, second, third or fourth on the list of total certainties. In time he may move up the list and I hope he does as as a neutral it will be a joy to watch as he does it in style.
