**Official** Sri Lanka in England / Scotland - 2011

I'm pretty happy with the balance as it is, unless we need two spinners, in which case Patel for Dernbach makes sense. There's always Swann at #9 to be promoted if there's a need for slogging, or Woakes could come in for Dernbach if you want more depth. Much rather have 5 proper bowlers.
Yes I prefer 5 specialist bowlers. KP should be working on his bowling and be the part-time spinner.

Bresnan says Headingley is usually flat, 300 wicket.
Last ODI v Pakistan 294 batting first. England chasing 295.

Just found a stat. Over the last 5 years, the average rpw and strike rate in ODIs in England is 28.9 and 80.7. At Headingley, it's 42.6 and 95.6.

I reckon that was a bit of a freak result. England were really bowling rubbish that day and Jayasuriya was in one of those moods.

Gonna stand up for Dernbach here slightly. Think there's definitely something there myself.

Can appreciate the concerns about balance, but he's a much improved bowler in limited overs anyway.

England win the toss and bowl, they're unchanged. Chandimal in for the Sri Lankans.

Seems odd to bowl first given the succession of high scores over the last few years here. Must be something in the wicket.

Wonder why the Headingley Test wicket is known to be a good one to bowl on, whereas the ODI wickets have been traditionally high-scoring. I remember Anderson, Broad and co. being taken to the cleaners by Sachin and Ganguly when India last toured.

Two run outs. So dumb. Don't take on England's fast bowlers in the field. Especially don't take on Anderson.

Crazy running between the wickets by the Lankans. Criminal to throw away two wickets like that.

Swann's standing too deep in the slips. 2nd time that's happened. Though TBF Mahela played it with soft hands when he edged through the slips.
