Btw just to whinge a bit more, anyone else think in the middle of June they should just play as many overs as they can while the light holds.

Longest day is a couple of days away so in theory light would hold for hours.

Just annoying to lose so many overs and finish in bright light.
Makes too much sense.

100% agreement.

Play until all the overs are bowled, light permitting.

The playing conditions of cricket sometimes really do test the faithful.

Well, well, well here comes Herath - at last.

Poor captaincy from Sanga IMO, Herath should have been given a go much earlier.

Absolutely agree, especially at a ground like the Rose Bowl which is well away from housing. It's often local bylaws protecting the peace and quiet of local residents that stop the game going on all evening. That and the stupid administrators of cricket in this country.

That's awful, but isn't Lakmal the one whos just finished a 10 over spell...? Standing at point? A position that usually demands the most agile fielder.

Woo! First innings lead! Woo!

This pair mightn't be our best batsmen, but (IMHO) they're comfortably the best to watch. KP all forcing front foot drives and pulls & Bell with his beautiful orthodoxy. Straight out of the coaching manual, he is.

Only seven overs remain today but the close is at 7:30. So even after all the rain has finally dried up, the paying public are cheated out of more overs.

Yes, I think cricket needs to get more flexible, especially on days like today, where you could easily play another hour or so and the spectators get more value for their money and it's the best part of the day.

Awwwww ****

Agree with Brumby; wouldn't have played that if he didn't want to get it tonight.

KP, KP what have you done? Gifted Perera his first Test wicket.

Shame, Pietersen deserved 100 with the positive way he has played.

****'s sake. Nightwatchman is stupid in this situation, where we're gonna wanna go quick tomorrow.

Though saying that I suppose they'd rather Morgan come in 5 overs in tomorrow when it's sunny (apparently).

But still.
