It's here. One of them is the ongoing series and another against West Indies, 2009. Arguably, the other two were against minnows but a great achievement nonetheless! Were Bangas two of them?
Howe_zat is a howardj multi and I claim my £5.
What would you set them and how many overs, would you leave, to let hem have a crack at it?Going to be a really interesting last day in terms of the intent that England are going to show. I hope, and I stress hope, we make a genuine attempt to win the game, now I'm sure many people will have the theory that we don't need to give SL a sniff, why risk anything when we're 1-0 up and have control of not losing this game.
In the past I'd agree that that way of thinking would be right, but with this side, with the right intent we could win the series tomorrow or at least give ourselves an outside chance of doing so. I'm not suggesting too generous a declaration, but if SL have a slight opportunity of winning it, I don't think it's a bad thing. They'll have no option but to go for the runs and get back into the series, and with their main threat in a chase where they need to score in and around five an over struggling with a bad thumb, England should fancy their chances.
In the past English declarations have erred on the side of caution, tomorrow they can show they now have more belief in winning games from unlikely situations with the right postitive approach. Of course it may backfire and SL romp to a comfortable win, but I find that unlikely. As unlikely as an enticing England declaration.
Depends on how quickly England rack the runs up today. Ideally 45-ish.ok. how many overs to bowl them out? or at least have a decent stab at it.
I like this too. There is no way that they'll do anything except bunker down if they lose 3 for less than, say, 120. Especially given that twice now their middle + lower orders have collapsed fairly meekly.Sign me up for 300-320 off 50-55 overs as a target. Run a ball means SL have to have a go and good for England if they get a reputation for attacking and pressured cricket.
Even that may be conservative. If it starts to go **** up we have two bouncers an over, wide bowling etc to fall back on.
SL will hope for a gettable declaration - or else quick wickets in a run chase and bowl England out for 250 odd. Most likely is that SL will have to confront their Cardiff demons.
Obviously a draw is the favourite bit let's hope for a day of intrigue.
They're paying $7.50 here - I thought that was too good to pass up as well.I laid £30 on England yesterday, just felt they were amazing value.
